Markus Vieth holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Natural Sciences, with a specialisation in experimental physics, from Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
He is currently developing CUDA-accelerated C++ libraries to support domain-specific research applications, particularly in bioinformatics, and oversees the administration of our research computing cluster, Dungeon. His main focus lies on GPU-accelerated data structures for single- and multi-GPU systems.
From 2023 to 2026, he was a member of the NHR Graduate School and served as elected Speaker for his cohort.
Since October 2025, he assists in modernizing the advanced courses High Performance Computing and Accelerated Computing with GPUs.
